Your account isn’t going to come to a grinding halt if you stop posting for a couple of days, you’re not going to lose business and you’re not going to be marked as inactive. If anything your account will grow. It gives people a chance to see your content rather than being bombarded with new stuff!
Instagram works in a way, where if you stop posting for a little while it’ll show your content to more people to send you those notifications to encourage you to keep posting. (It’s ironic, but helpful)
When I first became unwell, I forced myself to get up and out of bed just to create content and work (bad decision, don’t do that) and it actually made me feel worse.
So what actually happened when I stopped posting regularly for a few weeks?
- I reached 339% more accounts and increased my impressions by 282% (1,630) the majority of which were non-followers. So, more people had been discovering my account whilst I wasn’t even active. I also reached 551% more non-followers with content that I posted before I took a break!
- I had 75 people follow me and 11 unfollows so that makes my total 64 new followers since I had been away.
- 161% more non-followers and 32.1% more of my own followers engaged with my content. The majority being focused on my posts.
This growth happened when I was posting maybe once a week because I wasn’t feeling very well!
You dont have to post everyday and don’t beat yourself up over taking a short break as you could find thats when your business could really grow!
I feel like a lot of people believe that when they stop posting their business is going to come to a grinding halt. Use me as proof to show thats just not true!
